Performing Metamorphosis
Titling is always a really tricky thing. How it sounds, what it means, how it reads and so on and so forth. I still have two images that need titles for this series, but I think I've found the name for this body of work; sculptures, images and all.
Performing Metamorphosis
It refers to the performance aspect of the work as well as the transformation and hybridization of materials and characters.
Unn-Therese Dida Sundet was born in Kongsberg, Norway (1980). She has a Bachelor of Fine Art, Fine Art Photography, with Honours, from RMIT, Melbourne. Dida works with a number of techniques, mainly photography, installation and sculpture. She explores cultural traditions of storytelling and the construction of transitional spaces and objects that lie between the familiar and the unknown. Her work unites all aspects of an extensive background in theatre, film and photography in both Norway and Melbourne. Her series ‘Down a Rabbit Hole’ (2008) was awarded two honourable mentions in the 2009 International Photography Awards.
